BARUAK AND KARAMBIA SERVICES

The unique question arises, what is the relationship between baruak and karambia services?

Through coconut trees, a unique job was created in West Sumatra called Jasa Baruak (Beruk Service). As we know, rendang is a culinary made from old coconut which is processed into coconut milk.

Local people use the services of beruk to help pick coconuts. Uniquely, there is a Beruk Science College (STIB) in Pariaman City. STIB is not a place where beruk learn to read or write, but a place to train macaque skills in picking coconuts. Very unique!
